In several European countries, the presence of the Tijaniyya path is largely linked to migration from North Africa and West Africa. Communities include disciples originating from Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt, and Senegal, each carrying the spiritual lineages and traditions received from their teachers.
In these countries, Tijani communities often organize themselves around associations, cultural centers, or gathering places where disciples meet to perform collective dhikr and maintain the teachings of the path.
Some disciples from academic backgrounds also contribute to this dynamic by establishing research and translation initiatives dedicated to the study of Sufism and the heritage of the Tijaniyya. In several European cities, voluntary initiatives have even led to the construction of zawiyas or the acquisition of land for communal spiritual activities.
