Defense of the Tijani Tariqah
Section on the Defense of the Tijani Path This section seeks to provide a comprehensive view of the Ahmediya Tijani path, drawing exclusively from the works and writings of the erudite scholar Sidi Ahmed Skiredj, who dedicated his life to defending both Islam and, specifically, Sufism and the Tijani path. Sheikh Skiredj, may God have mercy on him, was a courageous defender in the arenas of dialogue and debate. He confronted critics of Sufi paths with determination and faith, particularly in gatherings at the mosques of Fes, where he skillfully persuaded and silenced his opponents through his insightful responses, which continue to serve as references to this day. Skiredj’s defense of the Tijani path was not limited to oral debates; he also made significant contributions through his writings, producing numerous works and manuscripts that protected the Tijani path with depth and authenticity. These books continue to attract the attention and respect of researchers and scholars, having crossed generations and reached countless readers, becoming a legacy for future generations. His works in this field include notable titles such as Qurrat Al-Ayn fi Jawab As'ilat Mu’allif Khabi'at Al-Kawn, As-Sirr Ar-Rabbani fi Radd Turhat Ibn Mayabi Al-Aani, As-Sirat Al-Mustaqim fi Radd 'ala Mu’allif Al-Manhaj Al-Qawim, among many others that have courageously addressed the falsehoods and ambiguities surrounding the path. This section also highlights the poems of Sidi Ahmed Skiredj, which played a profound role in guiding the youth toward truth and shielding them from hostility and opposition to the saints. These poems, crafted with artistry and eloquence, were Skiredj’s means of countering misconceptions, sincerely conveying his steadfast convictions and deep faith in the mission of the Tijani path. Through this section, we invite readers to explore these intellectual and literary treasures, which aim to spread the light of truth and showcase the virtues of the Tijani path, in the service of truth and to earn the satisfaction of God and His Messenger, peace and blessings be upon him.
