In the name of God, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate. Praise be to God, and may prayers and peace be upon our master Muhammad, the Opener and the Seal, along with his family and companions, with complete salutations.
The method of visiting the tomb of the Cheikh has been transmitted to us by the great saint and eminent scholar Sidi Bou Taleb, may God grant him His mercy. This visit involves standing in front of the mausoleum and reciting: “Salutations are for Allah,” up to “and the mercy of Allah,” seven times (similar to the tashahhud of prayer). On the eighth time, one stops at “and His Messenger, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him.” Then, one says: “Peace be upon you, O Caliph of Allah. Peace be upon you, O Caliph of the Messenger of Allah. Peace be upon you, O Hidden Pole. Peace be upon you, our master, our Cheikh, and our lord Sīdī Aḥmad al-Tijānī.”
Next, one recites the Fatiha four times, followed by Salat al-Fatih more than eleven times, offering the reward of this recitation to the Cheikh, may God be pleased with him. Then, one prays: “O Allah, by the right of Your servants who calm Your wrath when You gaze upon them, by the right of those who surround the Throne, by the right of our master Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, and by the right of our master, our Cheikh, and our lord Sīdī Aḥmad al-Tijānī, fulfill for me such and such a request,” specifying one’s need. It will be fulfilled, if God wills.
I have also found recorded by the eminent scholar Mawlana M’hammed ibn Abi Nasr Alaoui that whoever recites the surah Ya-Sin, offering its reward to our master, may God be pleased with him, then reads the following verses and makes their requests, will have their prayer answered by the grace and power of God:
Could a servant be harmed in your refuge,O lords of eternal greatness,I come to you, imploring your aid,O you through whom all hopes and aspirations are fulfilled,You are the protectors of all, O support of humanity,Grant us your assistance, swift and timely aid.
There is another method for visiting Cheikh Abou al-Abbas al-Tijani, may God be pleased with him, reported by the jurist Sidi Abdallah al-Tadili from the scholar Sidi Mohammed al-Arabi ibn al-Sa’ih. This method involves reciting salutations to the Prophet, followed by salutations to Caliph Abu Bakr, then Omar, Uthman, and Ali, as well as to the noble companions and the members of the Prophet’s household, with repeated and specific greetings for each.
Then, one recites the verses:
Could a servant be harmed in your refuge, etc.
Afterward, one makes a prayer, imploring the Almighty through the intercession of those who have been greeted. One asks that God grant His satisfaction and that of those saints and fulfill all requests for goodness in this world and the hereafter. By the grace of God, the fruits and blessings of this visit are so immense that they exceed any earthly capacity to contain, and their true secret will only be fully revealed in the hereafter. May God fulfill this hope, for He is the One who hears and answers prayers.
